Product Introduction

Plastic-Lined Pipes are steel–plastic composite pipes in which a steel pipe serves as the base and is lined with thermoplastic engineering plastics. Common types of steel‑lined plastic pipes include: steel‑lined polypropylene pipes (CS/PP), steel‑lined polyethylene pipes (CS/PE), steel‑lined ultra‑high‑molecular‑weight polyethylene pipes (CS/UHMWPE), and steel‑lined polyolefin pipes (CS/PP). The manufacturing process involves, under high‑temperature conditions, applying thermoplastic engineering plastics—such as PE, PO, and PP—which exhibit excellent chemical and physical stability—to the inner wall of steel pipes or steel fittings via rotational molding or tight‑lining techniques, thereby forming a corrosion‑resistant pipeline. Steel‑lined plastic pipes combine the mechanical properties of steel with the corrosion resistance, aging resistance, and anti‑scaling characteristics of plastics, resulting in products that are resistant to delamination, offer superior corrosion protection, possess high impact strength, exhibit excellent impermeability, feature a smooth, even inner plastic lining with a low coefficient of friction, resist scaling, and are easy to install. They represent a cost‑effective solution for conveying corrosive media such as acidic, alkaline, and saline liquids, as well as corrosive gases. These pipes are widely used in industries including environmental protection, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemical engineering, power generation, metallurgy, and coking.

Basic Characteristics

  • It possesses excellent physical properties.
  • It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance.
  • Mechanical strength is the same as that of steel pipes.
  • Hygienic and non-toxic, it does not accumulate scale or harbor microorganisms, ensuring fluid quality.
  • Resistant to chemical corrosion, soil and marine bio‑corrosion, and cathodic disbondment.
  • The installation process is well-established, convenient, and fast.
  • Excellent weather resistance, suitable for harsh environments such as deserts and saline-alkali regions.
  • Smooth pipe walls, enhanced conveyance efficiency, and long service life.

Classification of Plastic-Lined Pipes

  • Plastic-Lined Pipes are classified in many ways depending on their material, manufacturing process, and application areas. At present, our company’s Plastic-Lined Pipes mainly cover two major sectors—industrial and residential—and comprise four major product lines:
  • Steel-lined PE/PO rotomolded pipes – reliable water treatment pipelines
  • Steel-lined PTFE pipe – the all‑purpose corrosion‑resistant pipeline
  • 3PE underground anti-corrosion steel pipe
  • Plastic-Coated Steel Pipes with Internal Epoxy and External PE Coating

Application Fields

  • Chemical industry: Process and discharge piping for conveying corrosive gases, liquids, and solid powders in the manufacturing of acids, alkalis, and salts, as well as in the fertilizer, pesticide, chemical, rubber, and plastics industries.
  • Power engineering: conveyance of process water return, demineralized water, waste slag, and fly ash.
  • Metallurgical Industry: Transport of corrosive media in metal smelting.
  • Mining industry: discharge of mineral fines, slurry, slag, and tailings; backfilling; ventilation; gas drainage; and shotcrete application, among other operations.
  • Pharmaceutical industry: Conveying various corrosive media, sewage, and wastewater.
  • Oilfield and gasfield: oil‑contaminated wastewater, gasfield wastewater, oil–gas mixtures, and pipelines used in oil production and gathering‑transportation processes.
  • Agricultural sprinkler irrigation: deep-well casing pipes, filter pipes, subsurface drainage pipes, drainage pipes, and irrigation supply pipes.
  • Municipal sector: urban building water supply, potable water, fire‑fighting water, district heating return water, gas and natural gas transmission, underground drainage for highways, and irrigation of green belts, among other applications.
